Surprise Calaguas Getaway

Okay, this is the first Vacation I've been to for the year 2012 and I also want to start this new blog about this amazing place I've been to. Here we go!

I never thought such place existed, and yes I never heard of this place. Until one night, 20th of January, my sister Jillian asked me if I can go together with her friends to officially start our Vacation/Summer in Calaguas  Islands, and since my parents will not permit her to go unless I'll be her "Passport" as an assurance she'll be coming home safe and fine.

My Sister and I.

The things I had in my mind is that we will be going in one of the beautiful beaches of Camarines Norte, stay in a Hotel and enjoy the rest of the Vacation. So that night, I packed my things which includes the following: Clothes, Swim wears, Makeup Kit, Towel, Jacket, Money, Camera, Phone and my favorite Pillow. We left that night for Camarines Norte with the Gang whom I also met for the first time, they are my sister's boyfriend's High School friends.

My Sister, Her Boyfriend on her right side, the rest are the New Found Friends of mine.

I was blown away when I found out that the place we are heading has no electricity and that we are going to stay in a tent, which will all be a first time for me to experience. Thrilled, excited and nervous are the things that hit me the moment I figured out what to expect in the Island. We arrived around 7-8ish in the morning  and started negotiating with other boatmen who I can say are not really trustworthy. No allotted parking space for those who comes in with their own ride and the negotiation is really complicated with them because they will kill you with the price of the boat to rent.
Good thing a good guy called us, and led us to a private port where there is only one owner. The place is very accommodating, there's is a place we you can rest while waiting for the boat to arrive and enough parking space for others who will come in with their on cars.

This is the port we stayed in.
As of that moment, it is still under construction but  can already cater guests who will come in

At the gate of the port.
This is the most relaxing port I have been to
This port seems located in a hidden Lagoon because of these Mangrove Trees
that surrounds the port which also gives a sense of privacy for the guests.

We waited until lunch since the boatman advised us that we cant leave yet because it is still low tide. So we decided to take a rest, cooked our brunch and started to drink iced cold beer while waiting until noon.
The weather that day seems gloomy and the wind that blows, i believe that is from Pacific Ocean is really cold. That is when I realized I am not prepared for this trip that the only thing that can save me for the cold weather is my jacket.

Our Brunch for the day, Tuna Omellete

Uh huh, its freezing cold that day.

We left the port around 12ish noon, and heck I found out that it will be a long 2 hours boat ride. I can say that this boat ride is the most extreme yet in my entire life. Staying in a boat for 2 hours seemed the longest hours in my life. It is literally one hell of a bumpy ride, and when I say bumpy ride, it's like literally riding a roller coaster in a theme park. I thought we are not going to make through this ride because it gives you chills and the feeling of falling from the boat. All these because we are against these gigantic waves in the Pacific Ocean and it just so happen that the rain poured that day that I guess also made an impact with the weather and the waves.
Thank goodness we are in the safe hands of our boatman named Alwin who rest assured that everything will be fine and we will be arrive the Island safe and sound. I'm proud to say that I have conquered my fear in that Ocean and eventually felt used to it.

Our things

We are so ready to go.

Alwin, the Captain.

At last, we arrived the Famous "Mahabang Buhangin" beach. Everything that we experience in boat ride, the anxiety, the chills, the hitting of the waves on your face and the excitement in our hearts are all paid off when we finally saw how wonderful the place is. Even if it had been a gloomy day and the sun seems a little shy, it didn't matter with the amazement for the scenery that fed our eyes. The coolness that you can feel with the beach which played with the colors of blue and green  from a far and when you look closely, it literally looks like a swimming pool, so clean and clear, adding it's white fine sand.

A Gloomy Day

Where we stayed for two nights.

Enjoying the beach

A day for Frisbee!

Capturing moments and mermories! :-)

Our first night in Calaguas was filled with so much fun. Since there is no electricity around the area, we decided to make a bonfire.
But the management would not really want people to build one because they want to preserve the and not to spoil the sand which may cause for it to darken. Luckily, they made an exception that night, since it's understandable that it's been freezing cold and the campers are just staying on their respective tents.
To mention, this is also my first time to build a fire to keep myself warm for the night. Marshmallows, cold beer, hotdogs and laughter; what else can you ask for with the tranquilness feeling this beautiful island can offer? :-)

Yummyyyyy

Happiness!:-)

Dinner, yay!:-)

Good vibes!

On the next day, we went to the other side of the Island where the community resides. We went there since the locals told us that we can buy ice for our drinks and other stuffs that we needed. It's a thirty minutes walk along the field.
Going back to our camp, as we walked through the field we saw big bats that is hanged on the mountain view.
